A Denver Home Companion | bang salon

i gave ramona her first home haircut a while ago. i trimmed up the bangs and made sure all the weird, long old-man wisps were cut to the length of the majority of her hair. since then, it’s grown into a mullet, even with random trims i give her here and there. so it was time for the salon. i talked up the event to ramona for some weeks leading up to, ever since we ran into my stylist, kristy, at crema. since then, ramona would often ask about going to get her haircut.

she was a pro! she sat so still and serious: lifted her head, tilted her chin, looked straight ahead. i was giggling over how stoic and sober she was throughout the whole thing. and the final product? omg. it’s amazing. short bangs and a little bob. it suits her and her personality and her style so perfectly.

So sweet! Our 2.5 year old is the same way at haircuts (he has had many): extremely serious and still, barbershop lollipop in mouth. This is in direct contrast to his usual demeanor, so it cracks me up every time.

She looks precious – love those little bangs. I cut Judah’s hair myself (so far)… I just plop him in front of his favorite TV show and he stays still for me!

It looks great. I’m waiting until Lulu’s has grown a little more before we cut it so at the moment she does have quite the little mullet going on.

Oh, this is killing me! She is sooooo cute, Emily! I used to take my boys to get their hair cut but at $15 a pop, and not that great of a haircut, I’ve started doing it myself… definitely a learning process, but with three boys, I try to imagine all the money we’ll be saving if I get the hang of it!

  5. […] as much of an ordeal to put on as i anticipated — she sat there so calm and serious (like her haircut) and did her absolute best not to touch it until it was dry. even refraining from talking fully so […]

I’m moving near the Denver area in January and would love to know more about this salon Crema. Do they have a website?

Now realize you were talking about a coffee shop. In any case would love salon recommendations, as I’m spoiled with salons in Chicago. Thanks!
