“watch out for [your] complicity in the exploitation of workers through shopping.”

this holiday season, and especially black friday, i urge you to read this ny times article about shopping ridiculousness and big-box shenanigans and consider holding off from the mania.

and as always, as much as possible, buy local and buy handmade.

let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. it will not lead you astray.

claudia: thank you! the sweater is from zara. and, yes, marcel is a quirky, strange little shell and video. we all need some nonsense like that in our lives 😉
kelsey: the funny thing is, i went into labor thinking it was going to be a piece of cake. silly me. that’s why i wanted to share as much as possible w other women.
melinda: when are you coming to denver again? let’s make a baby date!
sarah: thank you! chunky babies are the best. she totally has the driver thighs. i can’t wait to see what your little guy is like

“what’s it like to be a baby? it’s like being in love in paris for the first time after you’ve had three double espressos.”

this 18 minute video is definitely worth watching if you a)are curious about the way babies think and/or b)are an advocate of letting children be children in the way that they are wired and/or c)want to confirm your inkling that children are more than just useless beings or defective adults.

i’ve been meaning to link to this blog post for a while:
we were so flattered to read this customer’s review. he may not be a “professional” food critic but his writing and critique are thoughtful and wonderful. of course, it’s easy for me to say that since he sings high praises for my man’s hard work.

“and the baristas are very good looking.” DUH!
